The unscented version does have a bit of a scent, but it’s not unpleasant at all. I used this cream all the way through radiation, three times a day. I’m in my last week of radiation now and I’m happy to report that while my skin is moderately red and a little itchy, I have not had nearly as bad a reaction as I feared. I’m very fair and sunburn at the drop of a hat, so I was terrified of burning to the point of blisters but my skin barely felt tender even though it got red. And now that I’m onto the targeted boosters, I can already see the rest of my skin healing more quickly than I expected. My nurse had suggested a cream with calendula in it before I started, and I’m so glad I found this one!
I'm taking Proton Treatments on my head, and the skin is really red and itch. I was given two different creams samples to use on the area, one was kind of pasty and the other, "Radiation Relief Cream" was cooling and as the label says I got the RELIEF that I needed...thank you.

I recently completed 20 rounds of radiation for breast cancer and these products were amazing and definitely saved my skin during treatment. No itching, burning, blistering or peeling at all to areas where spray and cream used. My doctors and radiation staff couldn’t believe how good my skin looked and I know for a fact it’s due to the spray and cream. I had a small patch on my neck area where I didn’t realize I should be applying cream and that area started to get a little pink about a week into treatment and I immediately included neck area in my regimen and it didn’t get any worse thankfully but did burn. I applied unscented spray and cream three times daily during treatment and for a few weeks after treatment ended. I’m 2 months out of treatment and I still apply cream daily just to keep skin soft and moisturized. One of my physicians had heard about Dermavitalty products but hadn’t seen the results on any patients yet so when I confessed I didn’t follow the skin regimen they recommended and had been using these products instead she was very impressed and will be recommending to future patients. I just finished 3 weeks of daily radiation after my 3rd bout with breast cancer. This was my first experience with this type of radiation. (I had brachy therapy in 2013 however it did not require me to apply any form of skin healing.) I asked the radiation tech what would be a good lotion to use for my very red skin. I used Dermavitality Unscented Lotion prior to, during and post radiation. My skin looked normal throughout my 20 treatments with daily bolsters and at the end 4 boosters.
The afternoon of my final treatment l turned lobster red.
I continued to moisturize many times each day as well as use the lavender spray.
I am 25 days post final treatment and peeling and less red and still using the soothing lotion.
I had hoped l would not suffer any burn aka radiation dermatitis but l have very light skin and don’t bear up even in the sun well.
I can’t imagine getting through this without this healing lotion.
Unfortunately when I used the cream, my skin became very red and itchy and it didn’t go away. I tried it a couple days later and it was the same so I think I’m allergic to something in it.
